“Ten years ago the average age was about 50 or so. Now the average is between 35 and 40.” he said. In addition, pull tabs have been added and account for an extra $600.00 up for grabs by players. These pull tabs alone account for 55% of the parlors sales. “The pull tabs were necessary because since 1980, bingo laws have not allowed the prize pool to rise over $2500.00, leaving some players longing for more.” Daniels said.
In Texas, Bingo is highly regulated, which makes an operation like this easier for charities to be apart of. It seems players can not get enough of it, because across town another parlor is expanding and sees new faces everyday. Bingo’s high tech changes seem to have given this old timer game a fresh young look.
