The graphics are what one would expect inside an outer space slot. The background is funny, though, with cows being beamed up into space ships. Why is it the TV always goes fuzzy whenever aliens invade our world? Well that is one of the symbols players can expect to see along with laser guns, purple planets, alien looking plants, and the usual A-9.
The wager limits are somewhat reasonable. Players can wager from $0.01 to $10.00 per line, up to 25 line, per spin. With these limits, max wagers are between $0.25 and $250.00. Now $250.00 is a little steep for most, but it is nice to know that max wagers are not required to strike bonuses.
One symbol, the hostage, is the scatter. When a player receives 2 or more of the scatter, they are awarded, at least their wager back. The Green Meanie himself, who only appears on reels 2 and 4, plays a two part role in the slot. He is the wild symbol and also the bonus symbol as well.
As the wild, he substitutes for all symbols except the scattered hostage. As the bonus symbol, when players receive him on reels 2 and 4, at the same time, 5 re-spin are awarded to the player. During these re-spins, the Green Meanie will fill both reels 2 and 4 and serve as a wild. This feature can not be re-triggered.
This Green Meanie has failed to make a good impression on me. You see, I have played this slot several times since its release and not once have I left with higher balance than I started. I feel the bonus round, although tremendous possibilities for success, is very hard to enter and seemingly worthless by the time a player actually does. This is a shame because the slot itself has a comical and entertaining theme.
