When WSOP Main Event started day 2B yesterday, every single table in the casino had to be used to accommodate the 2,924 players that came back from days 1C and 1D. In fact the tournament was started late due to the extra table set ups, and overwhelming numbers of chips being unbagged and handed out.
Cards are in the air at 12:18pm and at 12:36pm, Erick Lindgren was eliminated. Erick Lindgren was the very first “Player of the Year”, but that title did not bring him any luck today. In fact, many players were out of luck, about 3 players per minute were sent home with in 5 hours of play. Some of the other eliminations yesterday were Vanessa Rousso, Scotty Nguyen, Howard Lederer, and Comedian/Actor, Marlon Wayans.
Some notables for the day were Paul Wasicka (210K), another Actor, Lou Diamond Phillips (190K), and Jeffery Lisandro (180). Paul Wasicka finished 2nd behind Jamie Gold in the Main Event back in 2006. Jeffery Lisandro is already this year holding 3 WSOP bracelets for finishing 1st in events #16, #37, and #44 and is looking to be named “Player of the Year”.
JC Tran has already won one bracelet in event #30, Pot-Limit Omaha, this year, but it seems in the past, he is always coming up short of earning the bracelet in a Texas Hold’em tournament. JC Tran currently sits in 11th position with over 254K in chips.
Want to play at a table with Phil Ivey? Players can, he frequents the high rollers room playing $4000/$8000 cash games all the time at the Bellagio, in Atlantic City. Phil Ivey has been winning circuit and WSOP tournaments for almost 10 years now and has taken 2 bracelets so far this year. Ivey also the year has finished 8th in event #41, a NL Hold’em Shootout tourney and finished 18th in event #13, $2,500 NL Hold’em tourney. He currently sits comfortably in 6th position with 325K in chips.
The real question here is, Who is Troy Weber? Weber dominated on day 1D and continued to dominate on day 2B. Very little is known about Weber, but what is known is has over 453K in chips and sits at the top of this main events leader board.
